 welcome thuis
de krat
this is the highlight of my every other friday.  10:00 am brings me a delivery of yumminess. bread, cheese, meat, veggies, sometimes fruit and an extra- juice, rosemary olive oil.  the send you recipes for the items in the krat (in dutch), but are super nice and speak english if you call.  everything is local and some things organic.  we get the krat for 2+ every other friday and it's enough for two people and it lasts.

landmarkt
this is a grocery store. it's pretty oost and over the water. it's like a marqt, but with a better meat department. their prices are high on some items and low on others. they also have a restaurant and if it is nice outside, sit on the terrace and let the kids run wild in the large grassy field.

turkish markets
these are everywhere around amsterdam, however usually not exactly in the center.  i know there are a ton in the oost (javaplein/dappermarkt).  veggies, meat (halal and not all stores have a butcher), fruits are lower priced than albert heijn, but sometimes their canned goods are a little higher priced than albert heijn (large coucous, phyllo dough).  i usually shop at my turkish market and then go to albert heijn for dairy/cleaning items.  this is my favorite turksih store: http://maps.google.nl/maps?q=molukkenstraat+401-403&rls=com.microsoft:en-gb:IE-SearchBox&oe=&rlz=1I7ADRA_enNL468&redir_esc=&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=nl&sa=N&tab=wl
