sense lifestyle
want to be pampered? the customer service is great and they offer a number of services, manicure, pedicure, facials, waxing.  and they were one of the first salons in amsterdam to offer the original shellac manicure, it keeps color on your nails for 2 weeks!

red carpet queen
i haven't been here, but a friend went and enjoyed her mani/pedi.  they offer a range of pampering services.

soap company
i have never been here, but i know people that really like this place.  i hear that they do the 2 week manicure- similary to shellac- but i am not sure if it is the same brand (there is also a brand called jessica).

universal nails
let me break it down.  when i want a shellac manicure, i go to sense lifestyle (i only prefer the brand shellac when it comes to two week nail colors)- but i haven't tried the two week manicure at universal nails.  when i want a good, no appointment needed, inexpensive manicure or pedicure- this is where i go, 45€ for a mani and pedi.

Hair:

Headquarters: i tried this place 3-4 times (after researching best hair salons amsterdam), hoping to find an amazing hair stylist and build a relationship.  every time the person i had the previous time had left the salon and here they perfected my bowl haircut.  that is not a good thing.

Lu-Lou's: i use Louise. she is British and really nice and gives me a really nice haircut for a great price (+31 6 814 68787).

Tommy'z Toko: i researched this place as well and since i was moving to de baarsjes, i was hoping to find a place close to my house.  i got an appointment with the owner and was excited- b/c hello- he should know how to cut hair- right? i waited. and i waited. to be seen by Tommy, i waited a long time. he informed that i shouldn't wash my hair everyday (okay, i can give it a try) and when i asked him how long it had been since he had washed his- 2 months. the haircut was okay, but i couldn't go back feeling guilty about having hair that was too clean.
